There are few stores or cafes in the immediate area, but the commercial centers along Bee Caves Road into Westlake Hills provide all the amenities. Most Barton Hills residents take the short drive south to 290 and South Lamar where they can find a Central Market and Whole Earth Provisions store. Barton Hills is just across Town Lake from Downtown Austin and there is easy access to Barton Springs Road restaurant row where Shady Grove, and Chuy's, among other popular hang-outs, are found.
