Austin's Travis Country Neighborhood

Travis_Country_austin

Austin's Travis Country neighborhood is a pleasant suburban area to the southwest of downtown Austin, in the Oak Hill region. Bounded by the Barton Creek greenbelt to the north, Southwest Parkway to the south, Mopac to the east, and Regents School to the west, Travis Country includes some 1400 homes, including those in Trailwood Village 1 and 2, Travis Country Green, Village Park 2 and 4, and Lost Creek at Gaines Ranch.

Austin's Travis Country neighborhood (not to be confused with the much larger Travis County, of course) boasts a number of attractions. For nature lovers, the nearby Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center honors the former First Lady with plant conservation, horticulture, landscape restoration and educational programs aimed at preserving and understanding native Texas flora. Travis Country is also home to the Blue Valley Amenity Area, with tennis, basketball, swimming, and playground areas; the Hilltop Amenity Area, with tennis, basketball, swimming, playground and picnic facilities; and the Sycamore Creek Nature Trail, a 1.5 mile hiking facility.
